Job summary

Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) is seeking a full-time People Advisor on a permanent basis in Scotland. The role provides professional HR guidance to managers and colleagues, manages employee relations caseloads, and supports policy development to ensure compliance with employment law.

Qualifications

• Qualified to SCQF Level 8-10 (e.g. HND) with CIPD (or working towards) or equivalent experience
• Strong working knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage a varied employee relations caseload
• Highly organised with ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Providing professional HR advice and guidance to managers and colleagues on a range of people-related matters
• Managing a caseload of employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance
• Supporting development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures
• Producing clear documentation including letters, reports and guidance materials
• Building effective working relationships with stakeholders and advising on people-related decisions
• Maintaining accurate People records and case documentation
• Monitoring trends and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in HR processes
• Contributing to HR projects and wider organisational activities
• Working collaboratively as part of the HR team to deliver high-quality service
