Job summary

Focus Group is seeking a People Advisor to act as the go-to expert on employee relations and day-to-day people advice across the Group. You will work hybrid from Shoreham-by-Sea, supporting managers and collaborating with People Business Partners on strategic projects.

With 3+ years HR generalist experience and CIPD qualification, you’ll handle ER cases, build manager capability, and contribute to People initiatives while supporting acquisitions and integration activities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years solid HR generalist experience across the employee lifecycle.
• Confidence managing complex ER cases and advising managers at all levels.
• A coaching mindset — building manager capability, not dependency.
• A data-driven, analytical approach.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly.
• CIPD qualified, or working towards it.

We’re looking for a People Advisor to be a trusted, go-to expert on employee relations and day-to-day people advice across the Group, while getting real exposure to strategic projects alongside our People Business Partners.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be the first point of expertise for employee relations matters, coaching and supporting managers at all levels to build their own confidence and capability. You’ll keep on top of employment legislation, work with external legal partners and ACAS when needed, and play a hands-on role supporting the people integration of newly acquired businesses — a brilliant opportunity to build M&A experience as we continue to grow through acquisition.

Beyond ER, you’ll work closely with our People Business Partners on wider projects that shape our people agenda, using data and insight to track impact and make evidence-based recommendations.
