Job Description:

KPMG is expanding its Tax and Legal practice to better support clients with their pension obligations. Our pensions team collaborates with over 2,400 colleagues, focusing on providing advice on pension matters related to ongoing operations and transactions.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Consultant to join our pensions actuarial team. Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality actuarial advice on defined benefit pension schemes in the private sector.

You will work closely with senior team members and be responsible for:

  • Strategic planning, risk management, and endgame options including surplus use.
  • Providing strategic funding advice to sponsors and ensuring compliance with DB funding code.
  • Conducting pension due diligence on mergers and acquisitions.
  • Providing member education and communication.
  • Advising on benefit changes, design, and implementation.
  • Ensuring good governance and compliance.
  • Offering pensions accounting advice.

Description of the Role

  • Understanding defined benefit pension schemes and actuarial liability calculations.
  • Understanding pension accounting.
  • Analyzing client data using actuarial techniques and models.
  • Producing technical actuarial work aligned with standards and quality procedures.
  • Checking reasonableness of assumptions and results with developed tools.
  • Generating draft reports/emails from outputs.
  • Supporting day-to-day case management and tracking procedures.
  • Handling end-to-end client project tasks within deadlines.
  • Developing technical expertise.
  • Maintaining open communication within the team.
  • Ensuring timely billing and debt collection.
