Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pension Administration Officer to handle queries and provide guidance on the NHS Pension Scheme. You will manage retirement applications, update logs and verify certificates, while staying aligned with current regulations.

In this role you will attend payroll and pension meetings, process opt-outs and transfers, and work with HR, Health 4 Work and NHS Pensions to ensure accurate, compliant pension processing and timely communications.

Responsibilities

• Answer queries by phone, email and post from staff, managers and external agencies.
• Provide pension information on the NHS Pension Scheme to staff in a timely manner.
• Prepare retirement applications, update retirement log and verify certificates.
• Attend payroll and pension meetings to stay updated on changes.
• Process pension opt-out and refund forms on Pensions Online.
• Review auto-enrolment and re-enrolment in the absence of the Pensions Officer.
• Analyse and reconcile pensions information on Pensions Online, including overlaps.
• Liaise with HR, line managers, Health 4 Work and NHS Pensions on ill health retirements.
• Prepare transfer packs and cash equivalent transfers for members.
• Collaborate with Pensions Officer and Payroll Benefits Manager to update policies and procedures.
• Undertake other duties commensurate with the role, including project work.
