Job summary

Howden is seeking a Pension Administrator in Birmingham for a permanent, full-time, hybrid role. You will manage DB and DC pension administration, run benefit calculations, payrolls and client communications.

Qualifications

• In depth knowledge of both DB and DC occupational pension schemes.
• GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 5/C or higher.
• Relevant Financial Services experience in pension administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual and computer generated benefit calculations and related correspondence.
• Maintain the member database; prepare computer generated benefit calculations and related correspondence.
• Communicate with clients, their members and advisers.
• Carry out cash handling transactions and liaise with banks/investment managers.
• Process client pensioner payrolls and year end returns.
• Check work for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with project work as required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of GMP Reconciliation and Scheme Reconciliation Service.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Pension Administrator to join our growing team. This is a permanent, full time role based in our Birmingham office, working on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manual and computer generated benefit calculations and related correspondence
• Maintain the member database; prepare computer generated benefit calculations and related correspondence
• Communicate with clients, their members and advisers
• Carry out and check cash handling transactions, liaising with the bank and investment managers as appropriate
• Process and check client pensioner payrolls, including calculation of net pay, arranging payments, liaison with tax offices and preparation of year end returns
• Check work of other team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures and legislation, as agreed
• Assist with project based work as agreed from time to time
• Have working knowledge of Shared Workspace (specific for GMP Reconciliation)
• Demonstrate understanding of Scheme Reconciliation Service and how to use this for the benefit of clients (specific for GMP Reconciliation)

We would love to hear from you if you have:

• In depth knowledge of both DB and DC occupational pension schemes
• Minimum of GCSE Grade “5” or “C” in Maths and English are essential
• Relevant Financial Services experience or a background in DC or DB pension administration would be a requirement
