We have an exciting opportunity for a midwife with previous experience in perinatal pelvic health services in the UK to join our team.
About the Role: You will be part of the SEL perinatal pelvic health team (PPHS), working within GSTT and linking with other pelvic health physiotherapists and midwives across various maternity units in SEL. This small but dynamic team received an RCM award in 2023 for outstanding teamwork.
As the pelvic health midwife for GSTT, you will collaborate closely with maternity and physiotherapy departments. You will continue embedding perinatal pelvic health services, which were part of an early implementer pilot for this programme. This role involves prevention, identification and treatment of women with mild to moderate pelvic health dysfunction. You will work with the Clinical lead that provide virtual education classes, outpatient appointments in hospital and the community and reporting key metrics to our local maternity and neonatal system.

The pelvic health midwife will provide a high-quality, woman-centered midwifery service in accordance with NMC rules and Trust standards.
Key responsibilities include working with the multidisciplinary team to monitor and improve care quality, leading initiatives such as OASI and pelvic health training, and providing professional leadership. The role involves developing and managing specialist care programs for women with pelvic floor dysfunction, maintaining pelvic health guidelines, and offering evidence-based education to colleagues and students. Effective communication with primary and secondary care, maintaining confidentiality, and participating in quality improvement programs, audits, and research are also essential. Additionally, the midwife will be responsible for establishing antenatal education materials, training staff, and contributing to policy development and service evaluations.

We have one of the largest specialist neonatal intensive care units in England as well as one of the largest NHS IVF units in the UK, which includes our flagship Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis services. Alongside our clinical services, we are integrated with colleagues at Kings College London, delivering a significant programme of research and development.
