Job summary

The Children’s Trust in Tadworth is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based OT services to children and young people within our neurorehabilitation team. You will work in a multi‑disciplinary setting, focusing on participation, function, and goal‑led care across home, school, and community environments.

Qualifications

• Specialist occupational therapy provision for children and young people in a neurorehabilitation setting.
• Develop therapy goals with families and MDT for participation and daily life.
• Use developmentally appropriate, occupation‑centred interventions and goal‑directed activities.
• Record progress using observation and standardised measures and adjust plans as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, evidence based occupational therapy for children and young people.
• Undertake specialist OT assessments including complex needs.
• Develop goals with child and family and MDT to maximise recovery and participation.
• Devise and carry out interventions that are developmentally appropriate and occupation centred.
• Monitor progress and adjust programmes using outcome measures.
• Advise on upper limb assessment and equipment needs in liaison with social services.
• Contribute to discharge/transition planning within the MDT.
• Prepare child related reports and participate in MDT meetings.
