Job summary

The Children's Trust in Tadworth is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to deliver evidence-based OT for children and young people. You will work with the multidisciplinary team and education services to assess needs and plan interventions.

You will develop goals with families, carry out occupation-centred therapies, use standardised measures to track progress, and contribute to discharge planning and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, evidence based occupational therapy for children and young people in partnership with the MDT and education services.
• Undertake specialist occupational therapy assessments of children with a range of needs including highly complex needs.
• Develop therapy goals with the child and family/carers, and with the MDT, to maximise recovery and participation in daily life.
• Devise and carry out developmentally appropriate, goal directed, occupation centred interventions.
• Use observational and standardised outcome measures to monitor progress and adjust programmes.
• Assess and advise on specialist equipment and liaise with social services on provision.
• Prepare discharge/transition plans and contribute to child related reports and annual reviews.
• Attend MDT meetings and liaise with external agencies; maintain accurate intervention records.
