Job summary

The Children's Trust in Tadworth, Surrey, is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapy for children and young people in our neurorehabilitation service. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to promote participation, function and goal-led interventions across home, school and community settings.

You will develop therapy goals with the child and family, undertake specialist assessments, and use outcome measures to monitor

Qualifications

• Provide high quality, evidence based occupational therapy for children and young people.
• Undertake specialist occupational therapy assessments of children with a range of needs including highly complex needs.
• Develop therapy goals, with the child and family, and MDT, to maximise recovery and participation in daily life.
• Devise and carry out developmentally appropriate, goal directed, occupation-centred interventions.
• Use observational and standardised outcome measures to monitor progress and adjust interventions.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality occupational therapy within a multidisciplinary team and education services.
• Undertake specialist assessments of children with complex needs.
• Develop and implement goal led interventions to maximise participation in daily life.
• Use outcome measures to monitor progress and adjust therapy plans.
• Assess and advise on specialist equipment and liaise with social services for provision.
• Prepare discharge/transition plans within MDT framework.
• Contribute to child-related reports and attend MDT meetings and liaison with external agencies.
• Maintain accurate intervention records in line with policies.
• Work flexibly, including early evenings and one weekend day per calendar month.
