Job summary

Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Ward Manager for the Intensive Care Unit. The post requires leading the ICU team and ensuring high standards of patient care for children in acute/critical settings.

The successful candidate will have significant ICU management experience, be able to lead and empower staff, and contribute to service strategy. This is a Band 7, full-time, permanent position on the NHS Agenda for Change pay band.

Qualifications

• RN Child (RSCN) mandatory.
• Diploma level post basic nursing qualification required.
• Significant paediatric nursing experience with at least two years at Band 6 or above.
• ENB 998 or equivalent teaching/assessing qualification.
• Leadership and mentorship skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor workload and workforce resources.
• Deliver expert clinical skills in Intensive Care to advance practice.
• Oversee professional development and educational needs of the team.
• Lead projects related to practice, manage unit staff including appraisals and rotas.
