Job summary

The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust seeks an experienced ward manager to take charge of the Children's Ward on shifts, organising ward activities and bed management. You will lead staff, ensure high standards of care, and role model professional practice in an acute setting.

You'll contribute to education and training of nursing students, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and support a flexible, patient‑centred approach across paediatric assessment, HDU, and day case areas.

Qualifications

• Responsible for ward management and staff coordination during shifts.
• Delivery of high standards of patient care in an acute paediatric setting.
• Involvement in education and training of nursing students and junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of the ward during shifts and organise ward activities.
• Oversee bed management and resource allocation in PAU/Children's Ward.
• Lead and develop ward staff, acting as a role model.
• Support flexible shifts and contribute to multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality care to patients and families.
