Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Healthcare Support Worker for Ward 1. The role involves supporting the multidisciplinary team in caring for patients aged 0–16 years and their families, with emphasis on compassion, effective communication, and maintaining dignity.

The position requires a motivated individual with prior experience in child care or health care settings and the ability to work well within a team.

Qualifications

• Motivated and committed to delivering high quality care
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with children and families
• Experience with children or in a health care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Promote and support registered staff with the physical health, comfort and wellbeing of babies/children/young people
• Support parents/carers to provide personal care with privacy and dignity
• Provide support and supervision for patients with eating disorders and mental health needs
• Escort patients from the ward to other departments within the hospital
• Keep the ward clean and tidy and stock levels maintained
