Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to deliver expert pediatric cardiac care within our Heart Institute.

The role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric cardiology patients, including diagnostic services and family-centered care. The APRN or PA must hold Florida certification/licensure (PNP-PC, FNP or PA), with a Master’s or Doctorate in a related field, and current BLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Pediatric Acute Care, Pediatric Primary Care Nursing (PNP-PC), FNP or Physician Assistant Studies (PA) from an accredited program.
• Current BLS and PALS.
• Prior licensed NP/PA pediatric cardiology experience preferred.
• Excellent clinical judgement, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric cardiology patients.
• Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
• Provide family-centered care by communicating with patients' families and involving them in decisions.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research projects in pediatric cardiology.
• Demonstrate understanding of APRN/PA rules, regulations, and certification requirements.
• Advocate for patients across the care continuum to ensure optimal experiences.
• Integrate ethical principles in decision making.
