Job description

Job Title: PE Teacher
Location: Gateshead
Salary Range: £150 - £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Daily Supply, Long Term

Do you have the skills and passion to deliver engaging PE lessons that develop teamwork, resilience, and physical well-being? If so, GSL Education is looking for a dedicated PE Teacher to join a well-regarded school in Gateshead.

About the Role:
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering exciting PE lessons across Key Stages, inspiring students to get active and develop their sporting abilities. You'll promote fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle while supporting students’ personal and social growth.

Key Responsibilities of a PE Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic PE lessons for students of all abilities.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, and resilience through sports and physical activity.
  • Organise and supervise extracurricular sporting events and competitions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ physical and mental well-being.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to encourage improvement.
  • Ensure a safe and engaging environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to enhance student development and engagement.

Requirements to be a PE Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching PE across Key Stages, with a solid understanding of the national curriculum for PE.
  • A genuine passion for promoting physical health and well-being among students.
  • Strong organisational skills for coordinating sporting events and extracurricular activities.
  • Excellent communication skills to motivate and inspire students.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of health, fitness, and safety standards in PE.
  • An updated CV with two relevant references from the last two years (covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps).
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
