We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Duty, Risk and Mental Health Practitioner to join us in a new role within an established team.

You will operate across several Talking Therapies services, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders to provide high-quality clinical care.

You should hold current registration with a professional health registered body, maintain ongoing professional development, including safeguarding Level 3 training, and have experience in:

  • working within NHS mental health services with various mental health issues
  • assessing and managing multiple risk presentations
  • multidisciplinary working
  • assessment and management of safeguarding issues
  • working with individuals in acute mental distress
  • providing risk and safeguarding advice, consultation, and supervision to other practitioners

This is a great chance to develop your skills and career in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will be involved in working as a Duty and Risk Mental Health Practitioner in a regional team, covering several Talking Therapies services, liaising directly with service users, Talking Therapies team members, GPs, and other agencies, including secondary care. You will also work as part of the Duty Team, providing advice and support to staff (CBT Therapists, Counsellors, DIT, IPT, PWPs, and administrative staff) regarding clinical risk, supporting robust risk management, and safeguarding processes.

The role involves substantial client contact via telephone, often with distressed individuals, to screen client suitability and facilitate referrals to secondary mental health services. Additional responsibilities may include managing interfaces between Talking Therapies and secondary care services.

Applicants with experience in managing risk and a working knowledge of primary and secondary mental health care services are encouraged to apply.

Staff development is a priority at Vita Health Group, with an annual study leave allowance for your professional growth.

The role is primarily remote, but occasional team days on-site at Vita Health Group bases are encouraged. You will need a private space for confidential calls.
