Job summary

Teach South Kent is seeking a motivated PE Teacher / Sports Coach for flexible supply work across Eastbourne and East Sussex. Starting September 2026, you can work full-time or part-time; QTS is desirable but not essential.

You will deliver PE lessons and sports activities, follow lesson plans, support students’ sporting skills and confidence, maintain a safe learning environment, manage groups, encourage participation, adapt activities to abilities, and provide general cover where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, coaching or leading sports activities.
• Confident working with children or young people.
• Good communication and classroom/group management skills.
• Flexible and reliable for supply work.
• QTS is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

PE Teacher / Sports Coach – Flexible Supply Work

Are you a PE Teacher, Sports Coach or experienced sports professional looking for flexible work in schools across Eastbourne?

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to support schools on a supply basis from September.This is a flexible opportunity where you can choose to work full-time or part-time, making it ideal for those looking to fit school work around other commitments.

QTS is not essential for this role.We are particularly interested in candidates with experience coaching or teaching sport who are confident working with young people.

The roleAs a PE Teacher / Sports Coach, you may be asked to:

• Deliver PE lessons and sports activities

• Support students in developing their sporting skills and confidence

• Manage groups of students effectively

• A positive and enthusiastic approach
• The ability to engage students and encourage participation
• Reliability and flexibility
• QTS is desirable but not essential

This could suit a qualified PE Teacher, Cover Supervisor, Sports Coach, former professional athlete, sports graduate or someone with strong experience delivering sports activities to young people.
