TeacherActive is working with a welcoming and supportive SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Colchester that is looking to recruit a Teacher to work with young people aged 13-17.
The school supports pupils with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs who may find a mainstream school environment challenging. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teacher who wants to provide young people with the structure, encouragement and positive relationships they need to re-engage with education and reach their potential.
As an SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, accessible and differentiated lessons to pupils aged 13-17. You'll work closely with Learning Support Assistants and other professionals to provide a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
Building strong and trusting relationships will be a key part of the role. You'll need to understand that behaviour can be a form of communication and use a calm, consistent and positive approach to help pupils manage their emotions, develop confidence and engage successfully with their education.
