Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a PE Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Caerphilly, Caerphilly County Borough. This is a full-time, long-term role teaching Key Stage 3 and 4, with immediate start and potential to extend through to the summer term 2027.

You will deliver engaging PE lessons, plan schemes of work, manage behaviour, and comply with UK teaching standards. Ideal candidates hold QTS, EWC registration, and an enhanced DBS, with right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas equivalent.
• At least 1 year of PE teaching experience.
• EWC registration or willingness to register.
• Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
• References covering the last two years (no gaps).

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging PE lessons across Year 7–9 and GCSE.
• Plan and prepare lessons and schemes of work.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.

Job Description

We are recruiting a PE Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Caerphilly, Caerphilly County Borough. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with an immediate start and strong potential to continue through to the end of the summer term 2027 (with possible continuation beyond).

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering engaging PE lessons across Year 7, 8 and 9, plus GCSE classes in a secondary school setting in Caerphilly
• Planning and preparing lessons (including schemes of work where required) in line with the national curriculum
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and working in line with the school’s behaviour management policies

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or recognised overseas equivalent)
• At least 1 year of PE teaching experience (exceptions may be considered for NQTs)
• EWC registration (Education Workforce Council) or willingness to register (support available)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
• References covering the last two years (no gaps)
