Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Secondary School Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) for Caerphilly, starting September 2026. Open to all subject specialisms, you will be supported by an NQT mentor and guided through induction.

The role involves leading KS3- KS4 learning, planning schemes of work, delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, and maintaining a positive classroom environment. Weekly pay and Welsh Government framework support are provided.

Qualifications

• QTS (or overseas equivalent) required.
• EWC registration as a Teacher; support available to obtain.
• Enhanced DBS (update service) or willingness to obtain.
• References covering the last two years with no gaps.
• Right to work in the UK.

Salary: £173 per day

Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term (Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:10)

Job Description:

A Secondary School Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) opportunity is available in Caerphilly, Caerphilly County Borough, starting September 2026. Our client is seeking dedicated NQTs across Caerphilly secondary schools, welcoming all subject specialisms. You’ll be supported throughout your induction year with guidance from a designated NQT mentor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading learning across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 classes.
• Preparing classrooms for lessons and planning schemes of work where required.
• Delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, including classroom and lab-based activities where appropriate.
• Following the school’s behaviour management policies and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or an overseas equivalent).
• EWC registration (Education Workforce Council) as a Teacher (support available to obtain this).
• Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
• References covering the last two years (with no gaps).
• Right to work in the UK.
