Job summary

HW Finance in the West Midlands is seeking a highly capable Group Financial Controller to join a newly established, private equity-backed business at the start of an ambitious buy-and-build journey.

You will have significant autonomy, working closely with the CFO and senior leadership to build the finance function from the ground up, balancing commercial and technical requirements while navigating rapid change.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong acquisition accounting knowledge.
• Experience across multiple legal entities and reporting periods.
• Hands-on, commercially aware and collaborative in a fast-moving PE-backed environment.
• Private equity experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee acquisition accounting and integration of multiple entities.
• Establish robust group financial controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Oversee statutory reporting under FRS 102.
• Own working capital forecasting and cash flow management.
• Drive systems standardisation and build scalable processes.
