HW Finance in the West Midlands is seeking a highly capable Group Financial Controller to join a newly established, private equity-backed business at the start of an ambitious buy-and-build journey.

You will have significant autonomy, working closely with the CFO and senior leadership to build the finance function from the ground up, balancing commercial and technical requirements while navigating rapid change.

Formación

• Qualified accountant with strong acquisition accounting knowledge.

• Private equity experience is advantageous.

Group Financial Controller | Up to £110,000 + Bonus + LTIP | West Midlands

A genuinely exciting opportunity to join a newly established, private equity-backed business at the very beginning of an ambitious buy-and-build journey.

We're partnering with a new entity who are embarking on an aggressive acquisition strategy that will see significant growth over the coming years.

With an experienced leadership team being assembled and a clear investment strategy in place, we're looking to appoint a technically strong, ambitious Group Financial Controller who wants to play a pivotal role in building the finance function from the ground up.

This is far from a traditional Group FC role. You'll have significant autonomy and responsibility, working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team across:

• Acquisition accounting – overseeing the financial integration of multiple businesses, legal entities and reporting periods.
• Group financial control – establishing robust controls, ensuring balance sheet integrity and overseeing statutory reporting under FRS 102.
• Working capital & cash flow – taking ownership of forecasting, cash management and funding requirements.
• Systems & processes – driving standardisation and helping shape the group's financial infrastructure.
• Team development – building and developing a finance function capable of supporting substantial growth.

We're looking for a qualified accountant with excellent technical foundations, strong acquisition accounting knowledge and experience operating across multiple legal entities.

Previous exposure to private equity would be advantageous, but equally important is your attitude. You'll need to be hands‑on, commercially aware, collaborative and comfortable operating in an environment where things are moving quickly.
