Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a PDI Technician to join a busy main dealership in Colchester. You will carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections, health checks and minor repairs, and prepare hybrid/electric vehicles for handover.

Requirements include Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, a Full UK Driving Licence, and the right to work in the UK. Previous motor trade experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
• Previous motor trade experience is preferred.
• Experience in a main dealership or independent garage welcomed.
• Good understanding of vehicle servicing, inspections and maintenance.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections on new and used vehicles.
• Complete vehicle health checks and identify defects.
• Carry out initial servicing, minor repairs and adjustments.
• Prepare hybrid and electric vehicles for customer handover.
• Ensure vehicles meet manufacturer quality and safety standards.
• Accurately complete inspection reports and workshop documentation.
• Report defects and additional repair requirements to the Aftersales Manager.

Job description

We are recruiting for a PDI Technician, Pre-Delivery Inspection Technician, Vehicle Technician or Automotive Technician to join a busy main dealership in Colchester. Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent), have a Full UK Driving Licence and the right to work in the UK. Previous motor trade experience is preferred, with candidates from main dealerships and independent garages considered.

Location: Colchester

Salary: £31,000 Basic | OTE: Up to £36,880 (Uncapped)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm, plus 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (8:30am - 12:30pm, with time off in lieu)

• Good understanding of vehicle servicing, inspections and maintenance
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Right to work in the UK
