Job summary

Aspens Charities is seeking a dedicated PBS Support Worker for the BlueJay site in Pembury, Kent. The role supports individuals on the autism spectrum and with learning disabilities, applying Positive Behaviour Support principles and promoting independence and dignity.

The position requires resilience, calm handling of challenging behaviours, and a commitment to inclusive care. Training and supervision are provided, with progression opportunities within the Aspens network.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or Autism.
• Experience of working with people who may display behaviours of concern.
• Willingness to complete PBS qualifications – this requires at least L2 English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Assist PBS team to create and follow behavioural management strategies.
• Source and establish an activity planner for individuals.
• De-escalate challenging situations in a calm, positive and proactive manner.
