Job summary

William Jackson Food Group Limited is seeking a Payroll Specialist on a maternity cover basis. The role is part-time (22.5–30 hours) with hybrid working in Hessle, Hull, and a fixed-term contract until July 2027.

You will manage outsourced payroll across weekly, 4-weekly and monthly cycles, interfacing with iTrent, PeopleFirst and the payroll provider. You will handle starters, leavers, changes, tax, NI, and statutory payments, while supporting process improvements and payroll queries with a

Qualifications

• Recent payroll experience including starters, leavers, changes of terms, tax and NI
• Ability to perform manual calculations when required
• Experience with pension legislation and payroll processes
• Strong data validation and accuracy when processing payroll

Responsibilities

• Liaise with businesses to ensure payroll data is submitted on time and in line with processes
• Transfer data from businesses to PeopleFirst and iTrent, review scheduler output
• Collaborate with People teams to improve outsourced payroll processes
• Carry out manual payroll calculations as needed
• Investigate, explain and resolve payroll queries
