Job summary

Mpeople Recruitment North West is seeking a meticulous Payroll Assistant for a well-established global organisation based in Royton, Oldham. The role focuses on accurate weekly payroll processing for 100+ staff and close collaboration with the finance team and HMRC to support reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of payroll experience, excellent Excel/reporting skills, and a discreet, proactive approach to handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of payroll experience in a busy environment.
• Strong Excel and reporting skills.
• Knowledge of PAYE, pensions, P60s and UK payroll processes.
• Organised, proactive and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for 100+ employees.
• Produce and analyse daily efficiency reports.
• Manage payroll queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete UK statutory returns and payroll administration tasks.
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Support pension and PAYE processing.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy across payroll records.
