Job summary

Portfolio Payroll in the Midlands seeks a Payroll Administrator to manage end-to-end payroll for a diverse client portfolio. You will handle new starters, leavers and contractual changes while supporting colleagues with technical queries.

Ideal candidates have at least two years’ payroll experience, strong communication skills and in-depth UK PAYE knowledge, including pensions and auto-enrolment. A proactive, detail‑driven approach and good MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Two years' payroll experience required.
  • Strong client communication skills.
  • Advanced UK PAYE knowledge and compliance.
  • Understanding of pensions and auto-enrolment.
  • Knowledge of payrolling benefits.
  • Excellent organisational skills and deadlines management.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Professional communication for clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with initiative.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end payroll processing for multiple clients.
  • Liaise with clients and HMRC on queries.
  • Maintain payroll notes, logs and Start PDM records.
  • Conduct payroll audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
