Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a 12-month fixed-term contract to support payroll operations and systems across the business. You will ensure accurate payroll processing, manage data interfaces from HR to payroll, and handle HMRC submissions and reporting.

The role requires strong end-to-end payroll experience, solid knowledge of payroll legislation, and excellent analytical skills. A payroll or finance qualification is preferred, with hybrid working offered.

  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience and up-to-date payroll legislation knowledge.
  • Excellent payroll calculation and analytical skills.
  • Experience using payroll systems and payroll software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Experience supporting system testing and process improvements.
  • Ability to explain complex payroll matters clearly and professionally.
  • Payroll or Finance qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including statutory reporting requirements.
  • Maintain and monitor payroll data interfaces from HR systems to payroll.

  • Complete manual payroll calculations where required.
  • Support payroll system upgrades, testing, and maintenance activities.

  • Ensure GDPR, audit, and SOX compliance requirements are met.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and third-party providers to resolve issues.

Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for your next challenge? We’re recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to join a well-established organisation on a 12-month fixed-term contract, supporting payroll operations and payroll systems across the business.
