Payroll, reward and people analytics officer

Location: London or Liverpool

This is a Temporary, Full Time vacancy.

The vacancy

Location: Liverpool or London - The role is offered within a hybrid working environment with a blend of office and homeworking.

Contract type: Fixed-term (12 months)

Salary: Grade 4, Liverpool £30,079 to £33,000 or London £33,079 to £36,000. Appointments will generally be made at the lower end, depending on skills and experience. Note: Internal applicants' salaries will follow pay and reward policy.

Working arrangements: 35 hours per week, with standard hours between 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working with at least 6 days per month in the office, including Wednesdays.

The role

The People and Culture team at the Royal College of Physicians seeks an enthusiastic and proactive Payroll, Reward, and People Analytics Officer. This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional looking to advance their career within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing monthly payroll data and coordinating with the finance payroll team to ensure accurate payments.
  • Handling payroll and contractual changes for new and existing staff.
  • Generating reports such as headcount, reward statements, and ad hoc data requests.
  • Responding to queries via the shared HR mailbox.
  • Participating in projects aimed at service improvement.
Candidate requirements
  • Strong prioritization skills and high accuracy in task completion.
  • Experience in payroll processing for organizations of similar size (~400 employees).
  • Proficiency with HR information systems (Cascade HRIS experience is desirable).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and good Word knowledge.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet conflicting deadlines.
