Altum Consulting is seeking an experienced Payroll Project Manager to join our fast-growing technology client in London. You will lead multiple payroll projects end-to-end, coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure successful go-lives across jurisdictions.

The role emphasizes project delivery over BAU payroll work, with a hybrid London pattern and immediate start. You will own plans, governance and risk management to keep workstreams on track.

Payroll Project Manager

Location: London

Altum Consulting are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Project Manager to join a fast-growing global Technology business based in London.

The organisation is going through a significant period of growth and transformation and is looking for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of multiple payroll projects through to delivery.

This is a project delivery role rather than a BAU payroll position or purely technical implementation role. You will work alongside established teams and external partners, providing the structure, ownership and momentum required to keep multiple payroll workstreams on track through to go-live.

Role:

• Lead and coordinate multiple payroll projects from planning through to delivery
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones and dependencies
• Drive actions and ensure key deliverables remain on track against agreed deadlines
• Coordinate stakeholders across Payroll, Finance, Technology and external partners
• Own project governance and maintain clear oversight of risks, issues, actions and dependencies
• Support payroll data validation, testing, reconciliation and readiness ahead of go-live
• Manage key data flows and dependencies across payroll and finance systems
• Work closely with Finance around payroll outputs, journals and downstream processes
• Proactively identify and resolve risks, issues, blockers and delivery challenges
• Provide clear project updates and reporting to senior stakeholders
• Maintain a strong focus on delivery, accountability and execution across multiple concurrent workstreams

You'll be/have:

• Strong project management experience with proven delivery across payroll-related projects

• Experience delivering payroll implementations across multiple countries or jurisdictions
• Proven experience taking payroll projects through testing, reconciliation, parallel runs and go-live

• Good understanding of payroll processes, systems and data
• Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams concurrently
• Strong planning skills with experience managing milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and actions
• Experience across payroll data, integrations, testing and reconciliation
• Experience working with third-party payroll providers and/or Technology partners
• Comfortable operating within fast-paced, international organisations
• Able to get into the detail, challenge stakeholders and proactively drive delivery
• Experience with Workday, CloudPay and/or NetSuite would be advantageous
• An accounting or Finance background would be beneficial but is not essential
