Pendergate Limited t/a Kindred in St Albans is seeking a Payroll Operations Lead to oversee fortnightly and monthly payrolls, ensure accuracy and timeliness, and support payroll compliance and reporting. The role reports to the Payroll Manager and involves handling employee queries in a busy on-site environment.

Key skills include end-to-end payroll experience, Excel proficiency, and working with cloud-based payroll systems.

• Experience running end-to-end payrolls.

• Sound knowledge of payroll legislation and legal routes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and large data handling.
• Excellent attention to detail with ability to resolve issues.

Summary

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Operations Lead supports the effective running of Kindred's payroll function. The role is responsible for processing fortnightly and monthly operative payrolls, ensuring payroll activity is completed accurately, efficiently and within required deadlines, while supporting payroll compliance, employee queries and payroll reporting.

Essential requirements

• Experience running end-to-end payrolls.
• Experience working with in-house payroll.
• Previous experience using Cloud Based payroll software and systems – currently using Templa CMS and Employment Hero.
• Sound and up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and legal routes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with large volumes of data.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to follow issues through to resolution.
• Ability to work under pressure and to short, strict deadlines.
• Good decision-making skills, professional judgement and discretion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels.
