Due to an internal promotion, we’re looking for a customer-focused Payroll Officer to support the People Services Centre (PSC) at the National Trust. You’ll play a key part in the day-to-day delivery of our payroll provision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal and external requirements. We’d love to hear from you if you’re customer-focused, solutions-led, and proactive.

Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, with an expectation to attend the office. There is flexibility on your location at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week, which will be discussed in more detail at interview.
Under the leadership of the Payroll Team Leader, you'll administer payroll processes for all employee lifecycle activities. You'll support and share expertise with customers and colleagues to ensure best practices are followed, and you'll be expected to solve problems and respond directly to customer queries. You will take responsibility for transacting payroll and preparing for BACS authorization, as well as testing system and process changes and participating in continuous improvement activities. The People Service Centre operates as “one team,” so you'll have opportunities to work on other people-related activities when needed.
