Job summary

Ashley Kate HR & Finance is recruiting a Payroll Manager to lead the Payroll Benefits in Kind (PBIK) implementation within SAP ECC Payroll. The role focuses on compliant delivery ahead of the April 2027 deadline, working with Payroll, HR, Reward, Finance and IT teams across the business.

You will gather requirements, support configuration and testing, and drive UAT to ensure a smooth transition, with a strong emphasis on HMRC compliance and stakeholder communications.

Payroll Manager (Payroll Benefits in Kind)
Location: Solihull (hybrid)
Salary: 45,000 DOE
Ashley Kate HR & Finance are delighted to be partnering with our client to recruit a Payroll Manager to lead a key payroll change programme focused on the implementation of Payroll Benefits in Kind (PBIK) within their SAP payroll environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with upcoming HMRC requirements, working closely with Payroll, HR, Reward, Finance, IT and external partners to deliver a successful project by April 2027.

As Payroll Manager, you will act as the payroll subject matter expert, supporting the design, implementation and delivery of Payroll Benefits in Kind within the existing SAP ECC Payroll system.

You will work across multiple business functions to gather requirements, support system configuration and testing activities, and ensure a smooth and compliant transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of Payroll Benefits in Kind (PBIK) within SAP ECC Payroll
• Gather and document business requirements across Payroll, HR, Finance and Reward teams
• Work closely with IT and third-party providers during system design and configuration
• Coordinate and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Manage project risks, issues and stakeholder communications
• Provide regular progress updates and reporting
• Support business readiness and successful delivery ahead of the April 2027 deadline

We're keen to speak with payroll professionals who can demonstrate:

• Strong end-to-end UK payroll experience
• A solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
• Experience working with SAP ECC Payroll
• Previous involvement in payroll change, implementation or transformation projects
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
