Job summary

Doubtless Pet Care is seeking a Payroll Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract. This remote role in the UK will lead payroll operations, driving transformation and automation while ensuring accuracy and compliance across the organisation.

You will work closely with People, Finance and HRIS teams to optimise processes, leverage technology (Workday) and shape the future payroll operating model for the UK and Europe.

As Doubtless Pet Care continues to grow, we are seeking a Payroll Manager to join our People Operations team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

Location: This is a remote role based in the UK.

What you`ll get up to as our Payroll Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations while driving transformation and continuous improvement across the function.

You’ll ensure payroll is delivered accurately, efficiently and compliantly across our organisation, while identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improving controls and enhancing the experience for colleagues and managers.

Working closely with People, Finance, HRIS and other stakeholders, you’ll lead the effective use of technology, including Workday, drive automation and help shape the future payroll operating model across the UK and Europe.

This is an opportunity for someone who combines strong payroll expertise with a passion for technology, process improvement and leading teams through change.

What we look for in you

• Significant experience managing payroll operations, ideally within a complex, multi-entity or international organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutory requirements, controls and compliance.
• A proven track record of delivering payroll transformation, process improvement and measurable operational efficiencies.
• Experience implementing or optimising payroll and/or HR technology, ideally Workday or a similar platform.
• Experience leading payroll projects, automation and process redesign.
• Strong understanding of payroll data, reconciliations, reporting and risk management.
• Proven experience leading and developing a payroll team.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge at all levels.
• A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to translate challenges into practical, scalable solutions and lead teams successfully through change.
