Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland is seeking a payroll professional to lead end-to-end payroll for a dedicated client with circa 450 employees in Paisley. The role is hands-on, focusing on accuracy, timelines and stakeholder collaboration.

The successful candidate will manage timesheets, RTI, statutory payments and payroll reconciliations, with strong PAYE/NI and pension knowledge and excellent Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end payroll for a sizable employee base.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments.
• Experience handling variable-hours/hourly staff and payroll data.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to build relationships with managers and stakeholders.

Are you an experienced payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership and seeing the job through from start to finish?

Our client is looking for a Payroll Manager to take responsibility for the end-to-end payroll process for a dedicated client account of approximately 450 employees. This is a hands‑on role where accuracy, organisation and strong stakeholder management are key to success.

The Role

You'll be responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while managing all aspects of payroll administration and compliance.

• Managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process


• Reviewing timesheets, overtime, absence and payroll adjustments


• Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes


• Completing payroll checks, reconciliations and RTI submissions


• Managing SSP, SMP, SPP and statutory payments


• Resolving payroll queries and discrepancies


• Building strong relationships with operational managers and internal stakeholders


• Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, PAYE, NI and pension requirements

About You

• Has previous payroll management or payroll processing experience


• Has strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments


• Has experience processing variable‑hours and hourly‑paid employees


• Is confident working with payroll data and Excel


• Has excellent attention to detail


• Can manage deadlines and prioritise a busy workload


• Enjoys building relationships and solving problems
