MacKenzie King is seeking a Payroll Manager for an established organisation in Suffolk. The role involves owning the payroll function across multiple entities, handling end-to-end payroll, pensions, and related queries with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

The position offers hybrid working with 1-2 days per week in the Suffolk office, and a strong, collaborative finance team environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Payroll Manager or senior payroll position.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, pensions and statutory payments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process across two entities.
• Coordinate payroll month-end and year-end activities, incl. reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, pensions, HMRC requirements and data protection regulations.
• Act as the main point of contact for employee payroll, pension, tax and NI queries.
• Manage BACS payment processing and payroll approvals.
• Oversee starters, leavers, pension administration, P11Ds and payroll journals.
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes and controls.
• Provide support to wider finance activities as required.

As Payroll Manager you will take ownership of the payroll function, managing the end-to-end payroll process across multiple entities and acting as the key point of contact for all payroll-related queries.

This role offers hybrid working, with 1-2 days per week in the office based in Suffolk.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Proven experience in a Payroll Manager or senior payroll position.

• Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation.
• Experience using payroll systems and driving process improvements.
