Job summary

EDF Energy Limited is seeking an Assistant Payroll Manager at Sizewell C to lead day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accurate, on-time payments and compliance within a high-profile national project.

You will partner with the Payroll, Pensions & Reward Manager to drive system enhancements, governance and process improvements while supporting a growing workforce and maintaining robust controls across the function.

Qualifications

• Significant experience working within an in-house payroll function.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and statutory payments.
• Experience managing end-to-end payroll processes and complex transactions.
• Excellent payroll reconciliation, validation and reporting skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel capability.
• Experience using payroll and HR systems like SAP Payroll or SAP SuccessFactors.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience within large, complex or regulated organisations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end payroll processing activities.
• Reviewing payroll transactions, reconciliations and controls.
• Supporting payroll sign-off and governance activities.
• Acting as an escalation point for complex payroll queries.
• Supporting audits, compliance and legislative updates.
• Leading payroll-related projects, process improvements and system enhancements.
• Producing payroll reporting and management information.
• Deputising for the Payroll, Pensions & Reward Manager when required.
