Job summary

Integra Resourcing Group in Warrington is seeking an experienced Payroll and Compliance Manager to own the weekly payroll operation and candidate compliance across Education, Industrial and Construction divisions.

This hands-on leadership role combines operational delivery, policy adherence and risk management to ensure workers are paid accurately, compliant, and supported by robust records throughout onboarding, placement and renewals.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing and compliance oversight.
• Strong understanding of UK data protection and DBS requirements.
• Ability to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
• Experience working with multiple divisions (Education, Industrial, Construction).
• Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the weekly payroll cycle for temporary workers and tutors.
• Manage payroll cut-off times for timesheets, hours, rates, expenses and deductions.
• Validate payments, resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate changes for starters/leavers.
• Maintain payroll records, evidence and audit trails.
• Respond to payroll queries from workers, clients and consultants.
• Collaborate with accountants and internal stakeholders on payments, reconciliations and invoicing.
• Maintain controls when umbrella companies or other intermediaries are used.
• Oversee the full candidate and worker compliance journey, ensuring clearance before start.
• Monitor expiry dates for DBS, right-to-work, licences and training records.
• Ensure data is retained securely in line with UK data protection.
• Identify and pre-empt non-compliant placements and mitigate fraud risk.
• Prepare accurate audit/compliance packs as required.
