Wee seeking a Payroll Co-ordinator is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of monthly payrolls, ensuring employees are paid correctly and in compliance with company policies, payroll legislation, and statutory requirements. The role involves maintaining payroll records, resolving payroll queries, and working closely with HR, Finance, Pension providers, and operational teams., Payroll Processing
Payroll Processing
- Prepare and process monthly payrolls within agreed deadlines.
- Input, validate, and maintain employee payroll data including:
- New starters
- Leavers
- Changes to terms and conditions
- Salary amendments
- Allowances and deductions
- Absence information
- Review payroll reports and exception reports to ensure accuracy.
- Process statutory payments including:
- Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
- Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)
- Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP)
- Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP)
- Shared Parental Pay (ShPP)
- Support payroll reconciliations and sign-off activities.
Payroll Compliance
- Ensure payroll activities comply with HMRC legislation and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records relating to PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and salary sacrifice arrangements.
- Support year-end activities including P60 production and payroll reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll audits and compliance reviews.
Employee Support
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers in a professional and timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Provide guidance on payslips, deductions, statutory payments, and payroll processes.
Pension Administration
- Process pension enrolments, opt-outs, and contribution changes.
- Liaise with pension providers regarding submissions and reconciliations.
- Support automatic enrolment compliance activities.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records.
- Support payroll data validation and quality checks.
- Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of personal information at all times.
Previous payroll administration or payroll co-ordination experience.
- Understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
- CIPP qualification or working towards a payroll qualification.
- Experience processing large monthly payrolls.
- Experience with payroll reconciliations and pension administration.
- Knowledge of salary sacrifice schemes and National Minimum Wage considerations.
