Hays Accountancy & Finance is recruiting on behalf of an established Accountancy Practice based in Dundee for a permanent Payroll Assistant to join their small and busy team. This role offers a 35-hour week working in the office in Dundee with parking, 34 days annual leave, and a highly competitive salary package.
Your new role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be part of a small team responsible for completing end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients across multiple pay frequencies, including weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly. You will process statutory payments such as SMP, SSP, SPP, etc., handle manual payroll calculations, and apply knowledge of pension schemes. You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, answer queries, and stay updated with new payroll legislation and compliance.
What you'll need to succeed
You should be an experienced Payroll Assistant within an Accountancy Practice or Bureau, with up-to-date knowledge of current payroll legislation. Strong IT skills are essential; experience with Sage Payroll is preferred but not mandatory, as full training will be provided. You must be a reliable team player capable of working accurately under strict deadlines.
