Job summary

Dynamite Recruitment is seeking a Payroll Analyst to join a busy finance and HR environment in Portsmouth on a permanent basis. You will support end-to-end payroll processing across multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery while handling changes and discrepancies with precision.

The role requires strong knowledge of UK payroll processes, reconciliations experience, and excellent Excel skills. Hybrid working is offered, with progression opportunities and staff incentives.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end processing of multiple payrolls with accuracy and deadlines.
• Prepare and validate payroll changes, check data and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete payroll reconciliations, variance checks and comparisons.
• Work with external payroll providers to resolve queries and discrepancies.
• Assist with PAYE, NI, statutory payments and pensions calculations.
• Maintain payroll records, processes and documentation.

The role will suit someone who enjoys working with payroll data, reconciliations and resolving discrepancies, with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance and providing a high level of service to employees.

The Payroll Analyst Role:

• Support the end-to-end processing of multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are consistently met
• Prepare and validate payroll changes, checking data and investigating any discrepancies
• Complete payroll reconciliations, variance checks and payroll comparisons
• Work with external payroll providers to resolve queries and discrepancies
• Support calculations relating to PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and pensions
• Assist with benefits and pension administration
• Maintain accurate payroll records, processes and documentation
• Support payroll reporting, projects and process improvements

The Ideal Payroll Analyst Candidate:

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll processes and statutory requirements
• Experience with payroll reconciliations, variance analysis and identifying discrepancies
• Good understanding of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory payments
• Strong Excel skills, particularly Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and SUMIFS
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy
