Job summary

QBE Insurance in Leeds is seeking a Payroll Advisor to join a fixed-term contract with hybrid working. You will be the main point of contact for employees and ensure accurate monthly payroll delivery across the UK and Dubai via an outsourced provider, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.

You will contribute to projects, work with European teams and the wider People team to strengthen processes, enhance efficiency and reduce risk while delivering a high-quality employee experience.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting UK payroll processes, including statutory requirements, month-/year-end activities, data validation and third-party deductions.
• Experience with outsourced payroll models and using payroll systems.
• Strong customer focus and ability to communicate payroll guidance clearly.
• Proficient with Excel and payroll data analysis, and interest in using tech to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Deliver monthly outsourced payrolls for the UK and Dubai, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
• Administer employee benefits, including salary sacrifice and pensions.
• Collaborate with People Centres of Excellence to drive process improvements and reduce risk.
• Provide clear payroll guidance to employees on PAYE, benefits, pensions and policies.
• Support month-end and year-end activities, including reporting and third-party deductions.
• Keep payroll knowledge up to date through ongoing learning and development.
