Job summary

Reed Technology in Yeovil is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join its busy payroll team. You will deliver accurate payroll processing for a diverse client portfolio and support colleagues during busy periods.

The role offers hybrid working after an initial training period, with full-time or part-time hours (minimum 30 per week), 25 days leave, and study support toward payroll qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Previous payroll experience within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
  • Knowledge of current payroll legislation and processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and deliver a high-quality payroll service.

Responsibilities

  • Processing end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of clients.
  • Managing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Processing starters, leavers and contractual changes.
  • Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP.
  • Managing pension administration and auto-enrolment duties.
  • Submitting RTI information to HMRC.
  • Handling payroll queries from clients and employees.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation.
  • Supporting colleagues within the payroll team during busy periods.

Payroll Administrator

Location: Yeovil
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (minimum 30 hours per week)
Working Pattern: Office-based during training, with hybrid working available thereafter

Are you an experienced Payroll Administrator looking to join a friendly and supportive accountancy practice where flexibility, professional development and work-life balance are genuinely valued?

Due to continued growth, a well-established accountancy practice in Yeovil is looking to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join its busy payroll department. Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll be responsible for delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service to a diverse client portfolio while enjoying excellent support and development opportunities.

This opportunity would suit someone with previous payroll experience who enjoys building client relationships, working as part of a team and managing a varied workload in a fast-paced practice environment.

The Role
  • Processing end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of clients

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

  • Previous payroll experience within an accountancy practice, payroll bureau or in-house payroll environment
  • Knowledge of current payroll legislation and processes
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • The ability to work effectively to deadlines
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Experience using payroll software and Microsoft Excel
