Job summary

Reed Payroll is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator in Glasgow to join a growing practice. You will deliver accurate payroll services for a diverse client base, ensuring compliance with current legislation and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key duties include processing weekly to monthly payrolls, handling pensions and auto-enrolment, and producing detailed payroll reports. Applicants should have payroll experience, HMRC knowledge, and familiarity with payroll software.

Qualifications

  • Previous payroll experience, ideally in an accountancy practice or bureau.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
  • Experience using payroll software packages and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for clients.
  • Calculate salaries, overtime, bonuses, and statutory payments.
  • Submit RTI information to HMRC accurately and on time.
  • Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for clients.
  • Maintain payroll records in line with current legislation.
  • Respond to client payroll queries professionally and promptly.
  • Manage pension contributions and auto-enrolment requirements.

Payroll Administrator

A well-established and growing accountancy practice based in the South Side of Glasgow, are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional looking to develop their career within a supportive practice environment, working with a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors.

The Role

As Payroll Administrator, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services to a diverse client base. You will be responsible for managing payroll processes whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and maintaining excellent client relationships.

Duties will include:

  • Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
  • Calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions and statutory payments
  • Managing pension contributions and auto-enrolment requirements
  • Submitting RTI information to HMRC
  • Processing new starters, leavers and payroll amendments
  • Handling SSP, SMP, SPP and other statutory payments
  • Producing payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Responding to client payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensuring payroll records are accurate and maintained in line with current legislation
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or bureau environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Experience using payroll software packages
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication and client-facing abilities
  • A proactive and professional approach to work
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively

Payroll qualifications are advantageous but not essential for candidates with relevant experience.
