Job summary

LNT Care Developments in Garforth, England is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team and manage 4-weekly payrolls from start to finish.

You will ensure accurate employee data, adhere to statutory requirements, and work closely with HR, care homes and managers to deliver a high-quality payroll service. Sage Payroll experience is essential, with strong numeracy and teamwork skills.

  • CIPP Payroll qualifications or equivalent advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Inputting and processing data for the 4-weekly payroll for our Care Home Business.
  • Maintaining emails and post on a daily basis.
  • Entering and checking all payroll information, including new starters, leavers, employee changes, sickness, maternity and other payroll amendments, into the system.
  • Collating information, carrying out manual calculations and producing payroll reports.
  • Downloading and entering data from HMRC into the payroll system, including tax codes and other information.
  • Calculating and making 3rd party payments such as AOE, CSA and childcare vouchers.
  • Providing assistance and advice to employees, care homes and managers on payroll matters.
  • Maintaining payroll data accuracy across Sage Payroll, CoolCare and People’s Pension.
  • Ensuring pension records are accurate and contributions paid on time.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with ad hoc requirements and process improvements.
  • Ensuring data is processed accurately, confidentially and within deadlines.

LNT Care Developments is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team and support the accurate and efficient processing of payroll across our Care Home Business. This key role will be responsible for processing the 4-weekly payroll from start to finish, ensuring all employee information is accurate and up to date, and that payroll is completed in line with company procedures and statutory requirements.

The successful candidate will have previous payroll administration experience, strong numerical and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a good understanding of payroll processes. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager, HR, employees, care homes, regional managers and other departments, providing support and advice on payroll-related matters and helping to ensure a high-quality and efficient payroll service.

The Role:

We are recruiting for an efficient and detail-focused Payroll Administrator to join our team and take responsibility for supporting and processing payroll from start to finish.

The successful candidate will have strong numeracy skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask effectively. You will be confident working on your own initiative whilst also being a strong team player.

Previous payroll experience is essential, with experience using Sage Payroll and a good understanding of payroll processes and legislation being highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inputting and processing data for the 4-weekly payroll for our Care Home Business.
  • Maintaining emails and post on a daily basis.
  • Entering and checking all payroll information, including new starters, leavers, employee changes, sickness, maternity and other payroll amendments, into the company payroll systems (Sage) in line with current processes.
  • Collating information, carrying out manual calculations and producing 4-weekly payroll reports.
  • Downloading and entering data from HMRC into the payroll system, including tax codes, student loans and other relevant information.
  • Calculating and making 3rd party payments, including AOE, CSA payments, Childcare Vouchers and other deductions.
  • Providing assistance, support and advice to employees, care homes, regional managers and directors on all payroll-related matters.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of payroll data across all systems, including Sage Payroll, CoolCare, People’s Pension and other relevant systems.
  • Ensuring employee pension records are accurate and that contributions are paid to People’s Pension by the due date.
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager with ad hoc requirements and working closely with HR and other departments to continually develop and improve payroll processes and working relationships.
  • Ensuring all payroll information is processed accurately, confidentially and within required deadlines.
  • Ensuring your own work fully complies with company Financial Policies & Procedures.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a payroll administration role.
  • Good working knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience using Sage Payroll is desirable.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to balance and prioritise workloads.
  • A professional and confidential approach when dealing with sensitive employee and payroll information.
  • A willingness to keep up to date with relevant payroll legislation and processes.
  • CIPP Payroll qualifications or equivalent payroll experience would be advantageous.
