Job summary

Portfolio Payroll Limited is seeking a Payroll Officer to deliver full monthly payroll processing for around 3,000 employees on a rolling temporary contract. The role is initially on-site for 5 days, then moves to a 3/2 hybrid setup within a closely collaborating payroll team of five.

You will work with iTrent for end-to-end processing, manage changes, statutory payments and queries, and ensure accurate payroll delivery under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Warrington | In‑House Payroll | £15-£16ph | Start ASAP

A major organisation in Warrington is seeking a Payroll Officer to support their monthly payroll operations on a rolling temporary contract, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent. You'll begin fully office‑based for the first 5 days, then move to a 3/2 hybrid split, working within a close‑knit payroll team of five. The role covers end‑to‑end processing for around 3,000 employees, forming part of a wider payroll population of 20,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivering full monthly payroll processing for approximately 3,000 employees
• Managing starters, leavers, contractual changes, and employee lifecycle updates
• Handling statutory payments, deductions, benefits, and payroll adjustments
• Providing clear and timely support on payroll queries across the organisation
• Completing payroll checks, reconciliations, and compliance documentation
• Collaborating with a team of five to ensure accurate and efficient payroll delivery
