The Role:
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Accounts Assistant to join their busy Finance team on a hybrid basis. This is a varied and crucial role encompassing end-to-end payroll processing alongside responsibilities in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong numerical and communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* End-to-End Payroll:
* Processing monthly and weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Managing starters and leavers, including processing relevant documentation and final payments.
* Preparing and submitting payroll reports to relevant authorities (e.g., HMRC).
* Dealing with payroll queries from employees in a professional and efficient manner.
* Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
* Accounts Payable:
* Processing invoices and ensuring accurate coding and authorisation.
* Preparing payment runs and reconciling supplier statements.
* Dealing with supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships.
* Maintaining accurate AP records.
* Accounts Receivable:
* Raising sales invoices and credit notes.
* Processing receipts and allocating payments accurately.
* Chasing outstanding debts and maintaining accurate AR records.
* Reconciling customer accounts.
* General:
* Assisting with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
* Providing support to the wider Finance team as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
* Proven experience in processing end-to-end payroll.
* Solid understanding of payroll legislation and best practices.
* Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
