Job description

We are partnering with a North London-based Housing provider to hire a Payroll and Accounts Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract, part-time basis.

Contract Details:
  • 28 hours per week
  • Hybrid working: two days in the office per week
  • Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Finance Payroll Manager with full payroll processes
  2. Follow payroll timetable and handle ad-hoc/emergency payments
  3. Maintain payroll confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations
  4. Support pension data processing and maintenance
  5. Process petty cash and credit card returns, ensuring receipts are complete and timely
  6. Post monthly petty cash and credit card journals and follow up on late submissions
  7. Distribute credit card statements and maintain an updated master list of cards and limits
  8. Reconcile petty cash and credit card accounts monthly, investigating discrepancies
Essential Attributes:
  • Experience managing in-house payroll systems
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, deductions, pensions, and statutory returns
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines effectively
