Job summary

MCS Group is partnering with a leading public sector organisation to recruit an FPS Dental Team Leader in Belfast. You will manage the Payments Team, ensure accurate and timely processing, and support continuous improvement in payment controls.

The role requires 2+ years' managerial experience within Finance/Payments (or 4+ years) plus strong Excel/Access skills, data analysis capability, GDPR knowledge, and a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• A relevant university degree/professional qualification and at least 2 years' managerial experience within a Finance or Payments role, OR at least 4 years' managerial experience within a Finance/Payments department.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Experience collating and analysing data and producing reports with recommendations.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation/statutory guidelines, GDPR and data protection principles.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Managing and coordinating the day-to-day workload of the Payments Team.
• Ensuring payments are processed accurately and promptly in line with relevant procedures and regulations.
• Monitoring workloads, outstanding payments, expenditure and service performance.
• Developing efficient working practices and robust payment controls.
• Analysing payment data and producing reports and management information.
• Providing advice and guidance on payment queries, reconciliations and relevant guidelines.
• Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and deliver services effectively.
• Supporting audit activity, process improvements and the implementation of new procedures.
• Leading and developing staff to ensure targets, deadlines and service standards are achieved.

The Role

As an FPS Dental Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a Payments Team, ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines. You will play a key role in maintaining effective payment processes, supporting staff and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
