Barclays is seeking a qualified solicitor to lead legal risk and compliance for payments activities, including merchant acquiring, card issuance, and payment systems. You will advise on laws, draft and negotiate payment agreements, represent Barclays in proceedings, and ensure policies reflect LRRs.

Location options include Northampton, Birmingham or Manchester; you will work with stakeholders to translate complex regulations into practical controls.

Competenze

• Qualified solicitor with expertise in payment services regulation and risk management.
• Experience advising on the Second Payment Services Directive and PSRs.
• Strong ability to draft, review and negotiate payment-related agreements.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written.

• Develop and implement best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance.
• Provide legal advice and support to payments activities including merchant acquiring, card issuance, cross currency payments and payment systems.
• Represent the bank in legal proceedings related to payment services (litigation, arbitration, regulatory investigations).
• Draft and review payment-related agreements to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Proactively identify and communicate applicable laws and regulatory changes; align policies and controls accordingly.
