Job summary

Barclaycard Payments is seeking a senior product leader to shape and grow the Value Added Services portfolio, including FX, cross-border, and merchant payments capabilities. You will own the product strategy and lifecycle, driving cross-functional alignment and data-driven performance optimization.

You will lead risk management, stakeholder engagement, and customer-centric strategy to deliver measurable outcomes and new revenue streams in a dynamic payments landscape.

Qualifications

• Define product vision, build business cases, prioritise investment, and deliver measurable customer and commercial outcomes.
• Proven track record of leading complex product initiatives from discovery through launch.
• Experience aligning stakeholders and managing delivery across multiple teams.
• Excellent understanding of payments products, customer journeys, industry trends, and regulatory considerations within merchant acquiring, acceptance, or transaction services.
• Experience developing or managing FX, multi-currency, cross-border acceptance, or international payments products and propositions.
• Ability to leverage customer, market, and performance data to identify opportunities, measure outcomes, and inform product decisions.
• Experience working with external partners, fintechs, schemes, processors, or third-party providers.
• Critical skills in risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Shape and grow Barclaycard Payments' Value Added Services portfolio, including merchant finance, FX and cross-border capabilities, account-to-account payments, and partner-led propositions.
• Define product strategy aligned with business vision, market demands, and growth objectives.
• Lead cross-functional relationships and align teams on product strategy and goals.
• Oversee product risk management and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Own the product development lifecycle from concept through launch.
• Work with product owners to drive change objectives.
• Set product objectives and key outcomes aligned with business, financial, and strategic goals.
• Monitor product performance using data-driven analysis and optimise outcomes.
• Drive customer-first product strategy using customer insights, feedback, behaviours, and pain points.
• Advise stakeholders and senior management on functional and cross-functional impacts.
• Manage and mitigate risks and strengthen controls.
• Develop innovative solutions through sophisticated analytical thought and extensive research.
• Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder partnerships through influencing and negotiating.
• Lead complex product initiatives, partnerships, new revenue streams, and customer propositions to market.
